Why is my screen spazzing and unresponsive?

I don't touch the screen ,but my phone opens apps, calls, and opens browsers on its own and I cant stop it. I have turned it off and back on but the screen is frozen it doesn't respond to anything I do.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Any recent system updates? When you turned it off and on, do you mean you powered it completely down, or just turned the screen off? Make sure you power it off completely, then turn it back on. To force a power off (if it's not responding normally), press and hold Power for at least 10 seconds, until the phone shuts down.
