Want voicemail icon on home screen like text msg

How do you apply voicemail icon to phone home screen as is the other apps that are applied and/or download? And so that is it completely automated?

Welcome to Android Central! Create a contact for your carrier's voicemail number. You could add pauses and your PIN as well to fully automate it (pauses are usually a "P" or a comma). Then create a Direct Dial widget on your homescreen based on that contact.
