Why is my Galaxy 3 not alterting me of my messages?

A

AC Question

The only way I know if I have a message is to actually physically go into the messaging. It does not ring/vibrate. It doesn't show a number a number on the icon. It doesn't not show a notification on the lock screen either.
Also on the Launch by default in the settings app info it says "no defaults set" and the clear defaults tab is all grey no white writing like some of the others ones.

Thanks!

Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

S3 or Note 3, it should be the same anyhow.

You have options in different areas :

ADDED : I can only guess you are not getting Lock Screen notification if the Message app is not the default, as you say.

Also , the ' Clear Defaults ' button is grayed out ( not a selectable option ) , because , as you stated the page states ' No defaults selected ' , therefore , none would be present in memory which could be selected and cleared. That appears to be working correctly judging by what's been stated.
