In the Contacts app, the Search at the top (within the Contacts app) used to show all [synced?] contacts. Now the results seem to only show contacts I have viewed (i.e. tapped into the contact) since the issue occurred. i.e. If I search for a contact that exists in the account, it doesn't show up if I haven't since viewed it. This started happening recently, after I restarted my phone, just a normal restart which wasn't even an update. So I've been manually scrolling to the contact, which, with around 2000 contacts and even using the letter jump by scrolling on the far right, takes time. I tried clearing cache, restarting the phone, and using Safe Mode, but these did not resolve the issue.
1. How can I get all contacts to show up again in the in-app Search in the Contacts app, without having to view the contact first?
2. Secondly, the system-wide Search at the bottom of the homescreen (or top of the app menu screen after swiping up from the homescreen) shows even fewer contacts - not even ones I've viewed - although "Home settings > Search settings > Control search results > Contacts" is enabled. How do I fix this as a backup contacts search that I can use while question #1 remains unresolved?
