Elipsis 8 Audio Issues - Input jack specific - HELP!

[AC Question]

I have a new elipsis 8 tablet from verizon. Strange issues with audio jack. External speakers work fine however when i insert headphones or an aux cable the following occurs:

1. Apps like youtube or slacker immediately stop playing and then will not play after pushing the play button.

2. Extreme Static and crackling when aux cable inserted.

3. Will work for a few seconds with cable then audio realted app will crash or stop playing and wont play after pushing play again and again.

4. After removing the aux cable... apps will not play and have to be restarted or device has to be rebooted. Depending.

THIS IS THE SECOND TABLET with the same exact issue. Any advice would be great.

Its 4.4.2 btw.

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like it's not an issue with the specific headphones, since it also happens with Aux cables. My guess is that it's a faulty jack (and maybe it's relatively common with that device), or there's some kind of firmware flaw.
