If the phone comes from your carrier, voicemail is #1 on your dial pad. Hold the 1 down for a couple of seconds and you'll be in voicemail. Follow the voice prompts to set it up. You'll have to enter a password and you can record a greeting message (like "It's me ... you know what to do") or you can leave the generic message on there. (You can always change the message later - it's one of the advanced menu choices on most voicemail systems.)

If the phone didn't come from your carrier, you'll have to bring the phone into them or call them to get the voicemail number for your phone number and enter it in Settings/General/Call (or Call settings)/Voicemail settings (scroll down)/Voicemail number. (If you bring it in to them, they'll probably set it up for you.) Then #1 is your voicemail.
