AC Question

Whenever I attempt to flip my camera view from the front to the rear camera, the image shows as a flipped, reversed picture of the front camera instead of accessing the rear camera view. Is there something I can do to fix it? or is there an internal issue? I have not dropped this device nor has it been abused in anyway, this problem just randomly appeared. I've tried resetting it and messing with camera controls. Nothing works.

Welcome to AC.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you take a photo with the ffc, with the camera pointing not at yourself but using it as an ordinary camera, there will be lateral reversal when you look at the photo.

Or do you mean that, when you are using the ffc pointing towards yourself, your own face appears laterally reversed in the screen viewfinder image?

So that's when you have the ffc on and select the option to switch to the full rear camera. When you close the camera does it open normally with the rear facing camera. If so, your issue is a curious annoynce, but at least everything works.
There have been issues with some Samsung S5 cameras not rotating after the Lollipop update. It's hoped to be fixed with a further patch update afaik.

You could temporarily try clearing the cache pn the camera app, and wiping the cache partition in Recovery Mode.

I don't know what device you have, but there are guides available.

Are you using a third party camera app?

If not you can try a few good ones from the Play Store and see if this persists.
