Is there a way to see on the screen that I have a new voicemail?

I don't know I have a new voicemail unless I check it. Is there a way to have a visual notification?

I usually get an icon in the notification shade, you don't? I'm not using visual voicemail, just regular dial-in to get messages voicemail.
