I unplugged my Moto g from charging at 50% because I had to go to bed, could I continue the charge the next day without harming the life of the battery to reach 90 to 100%. What should I do in this case?

There is a charging circuit built into your device that prevents overcharging. I always charge my phone overnight (and "bump charge" or top up the charge) during the day if I need too. As long as you're using the factory charger and cable (or a reputable 3rd party brand) this won't be an issue. Just make sure the phone isn't stuffed under your pillow or blankets and you'll be fine.

It's actually healthier to charge the battery from 50 - 100%.
