AC Question

I noticed about 4 or 5 days ago that when I am writing a text message, the keyboard won't move to let me access the emoticons. I am using the default keyboard. I tap the smiley face on the top left of the keyboard and it changes color, but I cannot access the emoticons. The workaround I have found is to long tap the microphone symbol at the bottom of the keyboard and from there I can access the emoticons. This is not a big deal but the annoying thing is that sometimes when my phone locks, the keyboard is in the way and I can't get it to move to type in my security code. If I try to turn the phone off to unlock the keyboard, I can't do it because after I hit "power off", it asks to verify that you want to power off and I can't get to the verification screen because the keyboard is in the way. I end up having to remove the battery to access my phone, which means I have to first remove the case, etc. I think that this happens after I have been trying to send a text and the keyboard "freezes" in place, but I haven't been able to verify this.

I contacted Samsung and we went through a troubleshooting script. I turned the phone on in Safe Mode and it didn't happen in safe mode. So they said that it must be some application that I installed recently. I have uninstalled all the most recent applications and some that were installed a long time ago and it's stiill happening! I finally gave up!

They said I can contact them again if it still happens, but I wanted to check with you guys first to see if you've heard of this problem.

The model of my phone is: SAMSUNG -SM-N910A

Android version: 5.0.1

Anyone else have this problem?

My phone was giving me the same problem. Thank you for you post. Uninstalling the most recent app worked for me. (In my case, it was a tuner app I was using for tuning my community band.) Wish I could help you!
