error coming up on tv while tablet is connected via hdmi and usb/2.5mm jack

So i have a not so very grand android tablet (ft 4008) running on kitkat 4.4.2. Unfortunately the tab doesnt get charged just with the hdmi connection to the tv. So i have a usb cable w/ a 2.55 jack on the other end that fits perfectly well on both devices respective connectors. But i'm getting an error on the tv, w/c unfortunately is in japanese. Although the video plays back fine on the tv and the tablet looks like it's charhing, i am bothered by this error.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean you have a cable that connects the tablet's USB port to the TV's HDMI port? That's probably a Slimport or MHL adapter, and will only work if the tablet is compatible with one of those technologies (which I doubt). I would connect the tablet to the TV via HDMI, and then use a separate USB cable to charge it from a wall outlet.
