How do you prevent newly installed apps from going onto a new page?

AC Question

When I add new apps, a new page (right of the home page) is created. I would like the apps to go directly onto the home page.

With the information you provided, I have to guess you mean the app icons? If so, just press and hold the icon and drag it to whichever page you want.

Normally, the app icon will show up on the page you happen to be on when you install the app. So, if you're on page 3, it'll go there. I don't believe there's a way to change it. Just make sure you're on your homepage before you install the app.

I am running Lollipop on an Insignia tablet, and there is only one page, my homepage. The page is not full; it has room for many more icons. When I download an app, though, an entirely new page is created with only one icon, the new app. Could this be Insignia-specific?

Sorry, I have no clue as I don't own your tablet. I thought the icon was just placing itself on the page you were on. I didn't know it was creating a new page. Strange behavior.

The only thing I can think of is delete the page after you move the icon. I know you already figured that out.
