My phone got hot and now I have a black screen

[AC Question]

I was talking on my galaxy note 3. another call came thru, it beeped,the screen went dark. I talked a few more minutes and the phone started to heat up ,then went dead. i pulled the battery out for awhile. when put back and restarted the screen stays black. i have tried several times, removing battery. one time it started to get broken pixels of the samsung logo, then went dark.

It could be battery failure, among other possibilities.

Could possibly be a faulty motherboard/LCD.
