Can I buy a used LG4 and cut down the sim card from the Rezound?

I have a verizon UDP, one line only. I can keep the plan if I buy a full price phone from verizon ($590) but I would rather not. I can find it for about $150 less on ebay. But I would have to cut down the old sim card. Any potential problems? The whole point is to keep the current plan, but upgrade to a phone with a better camera.
