Why does app suddenly stop with message "Unfortunately, **** has stopped"

I have a Pentair app on my Galaxy S5 that suddenly started giving me the message "Unfortunately, Pentair has stopped". The app works on my ipad and computer, but there seems to be some issue with Android out of nowhere. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and same problem.

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to the App Manager, select Pentair, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Now try again. If it keeps happening, some other app may be causing a conflict.
