Why cant my Note 3 charge after dropping it in water?

Dropped my note 3 in the toilet..... now i am unable to charge it and the home button is kinda glitchy

It looks like the main board or motherboard or whatever you call it has some kind of short circuit, so repairing can be more expensive than new phone.

The screen and the speakers still work fine... its just that i am unable to charge the phone
