I'm travelling to Europe and want to bring my phone for pictures and wifi use, but don't want to use it for texting or phone calls. I don't want to incur roaming charges or text and phone charges, but want access to wifi.

Hi and welcome to Android Central.

Go into settings, data usage. Turn cellular data off.

Or just under data usage hit more and then cellular networks. Make sure data roaming is turned off.

The last one is the only thing I do when travelling overseas.

When travelling abroad I use to keep aeroplane mode always on and then just switch WiFi on when I need it.

Pull the SIM card. Easy peasy.
