Phone numbers disappear and calls don't connect

Since my phone upgraded to lollipop (galaxy s4) often when I try to make a call I'll put the number in either from my contact list or by dialing manually and then press the call button and it will flick to the dialing screen for a half second and then it just disappears and goes back to the main phone screen with no numbers present. I have to try two or three times and eventually it will actually make the call. Has this happened to anyone else?
