How do I dial the letters on my LG 3 dialpad?

I want to increase the number of rings on my LG3 before it goes to Voicemail. Step three of the instructions for doing this requires that I enter a "+" sign and the letters XX. Verbatim, the instructions read: Now, dial **61*+11234567890*11*XX# and hit Send. I'm not sure whether I supposed to dial/type in the plus sign or not. Nor am I sure whether to dial/type in the XX or the increments of seconds by which to increase the rings, i.e. 5,10,15,20,25 or 30. When I try to dial/type in the plus sign and the XXs, only numbers show up in the window. If someone can help me, I'd very much appreciate it.
