Changing name on yahoo mail app

[AC Question]

I recently got married. I went on my desktop and changed my name on my yahoo mail. If I send email from desktop my new name appears. But when I use my yahoo mail app on my phone it still shows old name along with when I click on inbox and all my folders show, up at the top it still says old last name and then my email below it. I contacted yahoo and they told me I need to read my yahoo mail app manual. Don't even think that exists. Please help! I send email mainly through my phone

Welcome to Android Central! First, try logging out of your account on the Yahoo Mail app, then log back in again. If that doesn't work, go to Settings>Apps, select Yahoo Mail, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now open it again, and log back in.

I am in the same boat trying to change my surname on yahoo app on nexus 7 without success yet it was easy to do on pc. Have followed your advice and it doesn't work. Any more suggestions?
