Hi all. Newbie here. My 12 T has an issue with Yahoo mail and others. Whenever I try to open a link from a Yahoo message, it defaults to calling Chrome Experimental to handle the request. But CE hangs every time and will not open any link. How do I reset the default app to stable Chrome. I have searched this phone and cannot find any way to either delete or at least disable CE, Yahoo app setting on this phone do not have an option to assign default apps. I am running Android 14. Chrome version is 126.0. Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Settings a default app is a system-wide action, not an app-specific action. Open your system settings and search for "default." On my Pixel 7 Pro, it's under Settings>Apps>Default Apps. Select "Browser app" and make sure that's set to stable Chrome, rather than the experimental one.

Thanks. I've been trying to find the Default apps setting on this phone for a week now and I cannot find it anywhere.

Hi.

{deep breath} Apps - Manage Apps - 3 dot menu - Other Settings - Default Apps.

I have MIUI 14 running Android 12 though. I've never had that issue. I've always used Chrome and the Yahoo Mail app's links open normally there.

I've just gone outside, looked around, saw everyone seems OK, not sober but OK ....
SO it looks like 2025 is going to alright.

It's safe for you all to come on thru...

We'll wait....

OP - Not in any order below....

(Let us know if that doesn't work on the 12T)

go to settings > apps > manage apps. look for the current default browser (yours will be chrome) open it, then tab to clear defaults, next time you open a link, your phone should ask you which browser you want to use.
