AC Question
A few months ago, my Note 4 had some water damage (was left out in the rain) and the rear speaker stopped working (earpiece speaker and headphones worked fine). I was going to replace the speaker to see if that would fix it, but I ended up stripping a screw on the back and could no longer open up the phone, so I just ended up dealing with it.
Fast forward to today, I received a call while I was in a game application, and while my ringtone did not go off, the game's audio started playing out of the speaker. After finishing up the call, the speaker would start working again in or out of the application, although intermittently. I noticed it would switch between the rear speaker and the earpiece speaker randomly, as well as occasionally cutting off. I started to play with it by calling my own phone. I discovered that during a call, as long as I had the light sensor uncovered (where it automatically turns off your screen if you put your phone up to your ear), the earpiece's speaker would play out all sounds, and toggling speaker phone would make the rear speaker work, and the intermittent audio problem was not present.
This made me think that maybe there was some roundabout method I could use to get the speaker working normally again. Any ideas on what else I could do?
