Why do email documents (outlook files) dont open correctly ....chinese characters appear

I have many emails in my network along with other office files such as word, Excel, Adobe documents, along with music and JPG files. I can access all successfully from my Android Galaxy through ES File explorer S6 except email documents. When I try to open any emails, all I get is Chinese characters. The language is set for English but none of my emails can be read. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?.

What font is the sender using? Is it something that is proprietary to Microsoft?

Do you have the Microsoft Office apps for Android installed? Do you still see the Chinese characters if you open the files using the Microsoft Office apps? You may get the Microsoft Office apps in the Play Store.
