This week I got my wife a cell phone, and Budget Mobile is the Provider.
The model is x401
The android version is 4.4.2
I bought a 16GB microSD card from Wal Mart for it.

My wife loves to D/L games and play them all the time. But this phone isn't letting her. It tells her that the internal memory is too low. But in the Storage options there was an option to set default D/L to internal or SD card. We have SD card selected, but that is making no difference. It won't even let her D/L tiny apps. It says there is no space trying to D/L anything.
I read over the boards here and a few other places and read up about rooting. So I D/L and tried 4 different programs to 'root' this phone. I tried Kingo Root, SRSRoot, RootGenius, and I forget the other one. none of them could root it.

Please help me before I decide to find out how far her phone can bounce off the wall....

Welcome to Android Central! On Android devices, Internal Storage is crucial for app installation. SD cards are used primarily for media storage. Some devices do allow apps to be moved to SD, but in that case, only a small portion of the app is moved. And apps always have to download and install to Internal Storage initially, prior to being moved to SD. See this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...roid-memory-how-deal-low-memory-warnings.html.

As for rooting, sometimes there isn't a reliable rooting process for a device--especially if it's an obscure off-brand device like your XTouch X401 (if that is in fact the actual manufacturer). You could try looking through this thread: [Q] Rooting XTouch X401 | Android Development and Hacking | XDA Forums

I am having the same problem with mine. It took some time, but I figured out that the X401 IS made by XTOUCH. XTOUCH | Born Smart will get you to the smartphone list. THEN you need to go to older phones 2012-2013, it seems the x401 was one of there first phones.
ALSO, they aren't in the USA and they don't have a USA contact on there site. I really think we got a bum rap with these phones. I've decided to see if I can just upgrade my phone.
I can't take anymore aggravation with this one!
Good luck to you.
