I have a Galaxy S6 from Cricket Wireless and its been stuck on 5.0.2 forever. And no one knows when there going to update it. So I'm thinking of switching to US Cellular since they have 5.1.1 and are way faster at updates.
But my question is will I get the new updates from US Cellular or will I still be getting updates from Cricket still after I switch? Since its pointless for me to switch if I'm still getting them from Cricket.

Welcome to Android Central! If the phone is carrier-specific (i.e., you got it directly from Cricket), then it has to get OTA updates from that carrier. Other carriers won't be able to push their update. It's also not a good idea to flash other carriers' updates manually, since there may be incompatibilities, based on preinstalled software, and sometimes hardware differences. Your best bet is probably to root the phone and install a custom ROM.
