Verizon visual voicemail frustration

I refuse to pay extra for VZW's visual voicemail. VZW sees fit to pester the hell out of me about it, requiring that I go through the setup process every few days when checking it. Is there any way to stop this nonsense?

Seems like mine did it for a month or so then quit. Another great visual voicemail with far better options than the verizon is called YouMail. Tons of options and features.
 
I think it's happening every time I restart the phone. It happened on my Droid MAXX and now again on my Droid Turbo 2. This means it's an app problem, not a phone problem, as that is 2 phones on 2 different versions of Android.
