I have ATT... how do I stop visual voicemail from refreshing while I have the app open?
Generally you swipe down on the screen to make something like this refresh... however it will do it while I'm using it.
The reason this is as annoying as hell is when you click a message you get a drop down with extra icons to call/message/share.
This is great... play the message fine...
However I'm generally going to listen to multiple messages when I open the app... so I click the next message and the drop down shows with the extra icons and I press play and then the damn thing refreshes the screen... (get the little activity icon on top) and it closes the message I just opened. I have to wait a second for it to refresh and then open it again... it will do this repeatedly after listening to each message. There is absolutely no reason for this thing to check for new messages everytime I listen to one. Sometimes I might have 10+ messages to go through.

Try clearing the app cache in Settings>Apps (and also the app data, assuming the app connects to the cloud and doesn't save anything locally), then force stop it. Now open it again, make sure it logs back into your account, let it resync, and see if the problem persists.

I tried it but it is still doing the same thing.
This is a new phone... the S22 Ultra. I got it the week it came out and it's been doing this the whole time.
My previous phone, an S9 did not have this issue. I believe it was running Android 11 though... the interface for my S22 it totally different.

While on the subject on the new VM... I'm also getting double notifications... I've unticked all but one and it still plays the same notification tone twice...
I use custom tones for everything so I know it is playing the same one twice as I've assigned a different sound for all 4 of them... WHY are there 4 categories here? Aren't they all the same thing?

Go to you phone app and get into voicemail then exit and go back into visual voicemail

Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using AC Forums mobile app

That actually seems like it might be working. Thank you... I'll keep you posted.
I'm wondering as far as the multiple notifications are concerned... I use a 3rd party app called Drupe for my phone app. Primarily because it allows me to block (send straight to voicemail) any caller who is not in my contacts... but I have used it for years with no issues like this. So basically when someone calls and it goes to VM I get 3 notifications... 1 for the missed call and 2 for the VM. I have notifications totally blocked for Drupe so no idea why I get all of this. Like I mentioned... this wasn't a thing with my S9.
