Can my pictures be restored, pictures lost after restart of phone for new update?

My cloud was full, so pictures were not able to be saved there. My phone automatically restarted to get the new update on 11/24, when it came back on, my recent pictures were gone.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Which cloud is full? If you use Google Photos and upload at the High Quality setting (up to 16 megapixel pictures), you get unlimited storage.

Use a file manager app and look in the /DCIM/Camera directory, either on Internal Storage or the microSD card. Do you see the actual photo files there?
