How to decompile an apk to code

Hi guys, I need assistance on how to decompile an apk so that I can recode the entire app in Android Studio, I used apktool but it doesn't convert it into a Android Studio Project. Thanks in advance!

Are you the original developer? If not, contact the dev... the code for the project might even be publically posted on gerrit or github.
