Hi folks,

I have a samsung galaxy watch 4 that I'm trying to use "again", but I don't have a physical android device. I'm trying to use either Android Studio or perhaps virtual machine of Android and am hoping to connect my watch to one of those "environments".

I've got the latest android 15 running on Android Studio, Galaxy Wear is installed, and flashes the warning "galaxy wearable wants to turn on bluetooth". I can't figure out how to turn on bluetooth on my android studio / emulated device.

I've got the Galaxy Watch 4 turned on. It requires connecting to an android device to get started.

Anyway, is it possible or expected behavior to do what I want : connect a new (that is, one that has been factory reset) watch to android studio emulated android phone?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this to the Watch4 forum for more specific traffic.

thanks B Diddy.

if anyone has advice on how to use a galaxy watch 4 without having a physical android device, i'd appreciate it!

Have you tried using Samsung Flo? You'd have to install it on both devices though.
Try Reddit or XDA developers, I'm sure someone there has found a way.

Open Settings on Galaxy Watch, Connections > Wi-Fi, connect the watch to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer then, go to Settings > About watch > Software Information, Tap on Software version 5 times to enable Developer Mode.
