AC Question

Is there anyone out here, I know there are some smart people, who can help me and list the steps to root My unlocked Verizon VS986 and put Marshmallow on it? I want to run AT&T service, which I have, but have a rooted G4 running Marshmallow. I'm great with PC's but turning my G4 into a paperweight has me hesitating to pull the trigger. Ther must be a few folks out here that have done this very same thing. HELP!

If not here, try XDA Forums. Your best bet is to stay on Verizon until they update it, then switch to AT&T. (But someone on XDA may have a full 6.0 ROM available. if they do, flashing an LG is about as simple as it gets - put the phone into download mode, run a program on your computer, come back when it's done.)

I'm not running Verizon and plan to switch. I have a VS986 Verizon G4 that is factory unlocked but I am on AT&T. Because it's AT&T on a Verizon phone it's a tad buggy and has a ton of Verizon junk wear on it. I'd like to root it, then upgrade to Marshmallow. Just not sure which M uprade to use. Anyone done it?

Since it's the Verizon variant, you need the Verizon variant ROM. Always match the ROM to the branding on the phone. There might not be any differences between the AT&T and Verizon hardware, but there may be, and if there is, flashing the wrong one could brick the phone to the point that you can't flash a ROM. If you find custom ROMs for the Verizon variant, they'll almost always stripped of the Verizon bloatware.
