How to remove remote from Samsung note 4

remote is active and it is like a darker protection over phone display. Botooms on sides work but I can't get to any applications...this protection is all over the phone but the thin line on the top of the phone. Please advise how to deactivate this remote or protection

Sounds strange... never heard of this. Does it persist even if you restart your phone?

Use recent app button and close all apps. Go to app manager and uninstall/disable the remote app.

It's called "Peel Smart Remote". If activated and the screen is dark, use the camera (may be able to access the camera icon from the login screen, though I use HTC One). This disables the remote. Then disable it in the Apps settings. Hope this helps.
