Nexus 6p battery only charges to 96% then stops

[AC Question]

My nexus 6p only charges to 96% then stops. if I plug out and plug the charger back in, it will continue to charge to 100%. anyone can help?

Welcome to Android Central! Try calibrating the battery software by charging up to 100%, then using it normally until it shuts off from low battery. Charge back up to 100% again, and repeat the cycle 3 times. Does it keep stopping at 96%?

Also, are you using the original charger and cable?

thank you. I will try out your tips. Yes, I am using the original charger and cable. Will let you know after 3 cycles if this issue still persists. I do not have an issue with battery life however, and I do agree that it may be software related (calibration) and not a bad battery. do correct me if I am wrong.
