How long should I charge a new phone before the first use?

Welcome.
A first charge to at least 90% is a good idea as you will most likely using it alot to get it set up the way you like it.

There are different opinions, but I suggest charging to 100%, and letting it stay on charge for a further fifteen minutes or so.
