AC Question

My THL2015a on android version 5 has developed an annoying problem with the screen. Normally you swipe down with finger from top to bring down the notifications tab. It suddenly started bringing the tab down when you touch anywhere on the top edge. This means the notification tab gets in the way when you try to interact with apps. One solution is to turn phone horizontal but this only works for some apps and some app functions.
Is this a hardware problem i.e. do I need to buy a new screen from THL or will a factory reset sort it out?
Im worried about doing a factory reset because my SD card wasnt big enough to back up my data but I copied all the files to my PC, but still worried about doing it.

Before a factory reset you might want to try less drastic measures.

Try clearing cache.
Or it might be something in your settings, might be a new app?
