Voice to text not working like it used to after update

I know this might be tedious problem but it's very frustrating. Before some huge update my phone did (i think it was like marshmallow or something) my voice to text was spectacular. When i would say "el oh el" it would type "lol" now it types "LOL" and it doesn't even give the option for lower case. Also, when i will say "question mark" or "comma" it types the actual word instead of the symbol like it used to.
