Stop the notification sound with the Google sign in

I like the Google sign in where it prompts you to tap yes on the Google prompt on the phone to let you into your Inbox.

What I cannot find is how to stop the notification sound that comes up.

I have turned take the volume of notifications to zero, it still plays
Blocked all notifications for Gmail, Google app, Google play services, Google play store, Google+ and even Hangouts.

It still plays, definitely tied to notifications as when I change the tone on the phone it plays the new one.

Any ideas, like to idea but don't need my work and home disturbed every time I want to access a Google service.

If you touch the volume toggle in android, you get the volume display on your screen. If you touch the little arrow thing in the top right corner, a menu will drop down with other volume settings including notification!
You should also have settings in the google app itself to kill the sound.
In marshmallow, you have app by app notifications control to stop unwanted beeps etc... good luck
