Why do I get an irritating clicking or screaming noise on my pixel C

[AC Question]

My pixel C running the BBC iplayer radio app frequently adds irritating clicks to the sound stream. On occasions this becomes a very loud screaming sound and android crashes.

Hi, do you notice this issue with any other media playing app? have you downloaded the latest app update from the play store?
