"Sorry, this song cannot be played" on android phone

[AC Question]

I ripped a number of cds to my laptop via Windows Media player. I then synced them to my android phone but, when trying to play them, receive the "Sorry, this song cannot be played" message. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Either the files aren't anything you have an app to play, or thy got corrupted (which will happen a lot of times if you transfer them to the phone in any way but dragging the files from the computer to the phone).
