Galaxy S4 KitKat upgrade stopped push notifications

Can anyone help with this? I upgraded to KitKat the other day, and since then most push notifications aren't working. Some are, like Facebook and messenger, and S health, but I get nothing from outlook, inbox, Viber, linkedin, earthquake alerts, and all the notifications I used to get from random apps during the day. I've made sure the notifications box is ticked in the applications manager, and tried all the settings in the individual apps, as well as resetting, uninstalling and reinstalling apps. So far nothing works!
