rooted phone have internal 16 gb but when connect on recovery mode show 11.6 gb

i have rooted my phone it have internal 16 gb but when i connect on recovery mode it show 11.6 gb also after formating eveything it show same
the space must be shown nearly 14 gb beacause twrp rom only take 22 mb
my phone is yuphoria
after installing marshmallow it shows only 6 gb available
