Why does my phone keep roaming for a signal?

After last update done on my phone when moving anywhere with my phone it constantly freezes cause it is searching for a signal. Unless I'm standing still and even the it will freeze but not as much as when I'm moving or driving around. I have gone through the phone to clean up exceed garbage out of it to see if it would help but nothing.
