Galaxy S5-My "Recent Apps" button. How to close apps in bulk without that button?

My Galaxy S5's "Recent Apps" button (the touch screen button to the left of the Home button) is broken. Is there a simple way to force close your apps in bulk without that button?

It was so nice to open a battery-draining app like a game, then force close all apps in bulk when I'm done with that app to save battery.

If you pull down your notification shade, do you see "Side Key Panel" listed? If so, turn it on. If you have it, then one of the options for the side key panel is "recent apps" and you should be able to access the recent apps that way.
