Some Apps Doesn't Start Where I Left Off

I have a Galaxy Tab A SM-T510 which I purchased in 2020.
The past year or so some of my apps don't start where I left off or, when trying to open an app it starts to open then closes.
I have plenty of storage.
Why does this happen?
Are there any diagnistic apps that cqn help?
I have done a factory reset several times in the last 6 months or so.
Should i get a new tablet?

Thanks,
Jamew

It's not the storage that matters, but rather the RAM, and also how the system handles apps in RAM. Some manufacturers are overly aggressive with killing apps in the background in an effort to save battery -- I suspect this may be what's happening in your case. I checked it out but didn't quite understand.
It seems to be telling the culprot(s).
Still not quite sure what I to do to fix this.

There are a couple of things you can look for, but sometimes this behavior is baked into the firmware and can't be adjusted.

Go to Settings>Apps, select the app in question, and then look at its battery settings -- make sure it's Unrestricted. Also look through the system settings or any possible pre installed system app that might have anything to do with RAM/memory management -- if you find something like that, then see if there's an option to prevent certain apps from being killed.

You can also try bringing up the App Overview/Recent Apps screen, swipe over to the app in question, tap the associated app icon, and look for a Lock option -- this might also keep the app in memory.

But as I mentioned, if none of these options help (or aren't available), then it's most likely just how the firmware manages the RAM that's available.

B. Diddy mentioned some good suggestions , you can also look in settings>device care >memory>see if your device has the option to use virtual memory called Ram plus Screenshot_20240419_173222_Device%20care.jpg

The only setting I see in 'Battery' settings that might help is allowing type 'Allow background activity'
Could that it?

Not 'Allow run in backgroud does nothing. Of course I only turner this off for a couple apps. It's even difficult to see which app(s) are the culprits.
