Is there something wrong with my battery?

A

AC Question

My phone will lose charge even while its plugged in, and drains really fast when its not charging. I have to turn my phone completely off for it to actually charge, but even though it charges it takes about 40 minutes to gain 1 percent. Is it my battery? Is it something I'm doing? Is it my charger? please help.

Hi and welcome to Android Central.

What phone do you have? How old is it? Does it have its original battery?

Are you charging it using the wall charger or via USB port on your PC?

Are you using the original charging cable?

Have you tried a different cable?

As Laura above said, more details please. If you can check in the device what's draining your battery, that would help. Personally, once a battery becomes unreliable, I replace it before it crashes just when i need it.

IT seems as if you are having a hardware problem.Your battery may be damaged after using a different adapterI know this because You say even with the phone off 1% takes 40mins therefore the problem does not lie in your software.

I had a similar issue with my M7 it would take a long time to charge and replacing the battery worked for me.

Hope this helps.
