AC Question

Frequently when I go to an URL, I get rerouted to the following URL, ekywm.pw...., asking if I want update 360 Security (It is not installed) and gives a button to update. Without hitting the button, when I try to backup using return key in the lower right corner, I get another Web page saying that there is a virus and wants me to install anti virus software. The only way to get of it is to use lower left key to bring up all the running apps and closing it. Most offten occurs with Goole searches

Welcome to the forums. Which browser are you using to open the links? You could try clearing data for this browser in settings - apps.

My default browser was Internet. When I tried going to the verification link and was rerouted. Just switched default to Opera Mini. Previously, I had cleared the data and cache for Intetnet. At first that appeared to fix the problem, but it started again after only a few tries.

It sounds like your phone is targeted by some malware.
1. Check through your downloaded apps list and uninstall all the apps that you don't know or think useless. Better use an Android device manager to help you do that since this kind of apps can delete and clean the app with all app data and residual files completely.
2. Use device manager app to have a security check through your device to see if there is any virus. You can find many apps of this kind on trusted app stores like Google Play.

I have ran serval virus scans and device manager to check securty with no negative results. Since I have been using Opera Mini as the default browser, I have had no problens. I will check to see if I make Internet the default, if the problem reoccurs.
Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Was this happening for many sites, or just one particular one? What kinds of sites are they? Be aware that these kinds of redirects and adware popups aren't just limited to porn sites and other obviously shady sites. I've seen junk like that occur with some of those clickbait sites (you know, the Buzzfeed wannabes).
