How do I know I have a virus on my phone?

I was on facebook reading an article and all of a sudden a message popped up that I had 13 virus from watching porn. I don't watch porn? Is this a scam? Should I get an app to clean my system out? There was a google address that was associated with it. I downloaded the maliware app from the playbstore that they recommended but then got nervous that this was part of the scam and temoved it from my phone. I shut my phone off all night and just restarted it. Sorry I am not a techie kind of person at all and don't know what to do. Help
