How long should reaver be searching for beacon?

First time using bcmon/reaver and i have no idea what's a normal length of time for reaver to be searching for beacon before you know there's something wrong and won't work?

No I'm stI'll stuck. I bought a ton of htc nexus ones and installed custom roms. Not a single one works and I know the model is compatible. All of them just stick at "waiting for beacon". Could it be the cyanogenmod rom maybe? I've tried a few different versions on different phones though and same thing. Or what I'm leaning towards is that all of mone have very low internal memory. I'm using an sd card but I think bcmon and reavers tools, firmware and processes have to be functioning fully on the internal memory. I'm going to partition an external sd card to create more internal storage and see if that fixes it.
