Lost storage on Moto G2

[AC Question]

So I have a Moto G2 and it has been saying that the device storage is nearly full, despite my stripping the number of apps down to the bare minimum, as well as moving nearly all music and pictures to an SD card. Out of the 8 gigs, it says that the Android OS takes up 2.49 gigs, and my internal storage takes up nearly all of the rest of the space. However, the amount of space being used by individual categories adds up to only about half of the 5.2 gigs it says it's using. Where did the rest of my storage go?
