Why can I not access a file called "externalvvm" in my internal storage?

AC Question

Recently my saved voicemail was deleted and I wanted to check if they were on my sd card. I accessed the VVM folder, went to 'archive', and found a file called 'externalvvm' with a data base file extension. I try to click on the file, but I get nothing. If I check the properties, the file is 16 KB. Right-clicking on the file only gives me the options to cut, copy, delete, rename, or properties.

The only suspicious thing I see is that the file was created on 1/10 but modified on 1/8.. I'm not sure how that's possible.

I have a Verizon LG G3 phone and have Marshmallow.
